Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about the Pup Bus, pickup, off-leash adventures, or whether Bark & Ride is the right fit for your dog? Start here.

What is Bark & Ride?
Bark & Ride Adventures is a door-to-door outdoor adventure service for dogs in Sammamish, Washington. We pick your pup up from home in the Pup Bus, head to a spacious private field for supervised off-leash play, exercise, and social time, and bring them back happy and tired.

Is Bark & Ride a dog daycare?
Bark & Ride is not a traditional indoor dog daycare. We’re a dog daycare alternative for dogs who do better with outdoor exercise, fresh air, and supervised small-group adventures.

Is the adventure area fenced?
Yes. Our adventure space is a spacious fenced private field, so dogs can safely enjoy supervised off-leash play, exercise, and exploration.

How long will my dog be away from home?

Total time away is usually around 3–4 hours, including pickup, transportation, outdoor adventure time, and drop-off.

How long do dogs spend playing outside?
Dogs enjoy at least 1 hour outdoors filled with running, play, sniffing, exploring, and social time, plus water, treats, and supervised rest breaks along the way.

What time does pickup start?
Morning pickup typically starts around 8:00 AM, and exact timing depends on the day’s route and your location within our service area.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Bark & Ride adventures run rain or shine. If weather conditions become extreme or unsafe — we may delay, shorten, reschedule, or cancel the trip for everyone’s safety.

What kind of dogs can join the adventure?
Dogs must be friendly, social, and comfortable around other dogs and people. Every new pup completes a free Meet & Greet and temperament check before joining group adventures.

What vaccinations are required?
Dogs must be current on Rabies, DAPP/DHPP, and Bordetella. We also require a recent clear fecal test and recommend regular parasite prevention.

What should my dog wear on adventure days?
Dogs should wear a secure harness with a back attachment so they can be safely buckled in during transportation. Pinch, choke, and prong collars are not allowed.

Will my dog get treats and water?
Yes. Dogs have access to water, supervised rest breaks, and treats during the adventure. If your dog has allergies or food sensitivities, let us know in advance.

Will my dog come home dirty?
We do our best to rinse paws and towel dry before drop-off. Because dogs play in a real outdoor setting, they may still come home a little dusty, muddy, or wet depending on conditions.

How do I get started?
Start by booking a free Meet & Greet. We’ll meet you and your pup, answer your questions, help with account setup, and make sure Bark & Ride is the right fit before your first adventure.

Do I need to be home for pickup or drop-off?
Not at all. Convenient door-to-door pickup and drop-off is part of the Bark & Ride experience, and many clients choose a secure access setup that lets us safely pick up and return their pup while they’re away.

What areas do you serve?
Bark & Ride Adventures currently offers pickup in the south Sammamish area of Washington, with priority scheduling for Pine Lake, Klahanie, Beaver Lake, and nearby neighborhoods.

Do you offer dog boarding or pet sitting?
No. Bark & Ride is not an overnight boarding or pet sitting service. We specialize in supervised outdoor dog adventures with pickup and drop-off.
